Armed men suspected to be boko harams, on Wednesday, killed a former Director of Education and Social Service at Danmusa Local Government Service Commission, Alh. Yaro Lawal in his residence in Danmusa area of Katsina State.
According to sources, we learnt that boko haram stormed Lawal’s home when him and his friends were breaking the Muslim Ramadan fast.
The killers first of all tried to kidnap him, of which he refused as he struggled with them, this led to them shooting him several times.
He was rushed to the Hospital by some of his colleagues, but he didn’t survive the attack as he was already dead by the time he reached the Hospital.
In another development, armed boko haram attacked Majifa village in Kastina on Monday. Sources said the they killed 3 persons and destroys several buildings.
It was gathered that local vigilante in the village then called for help and were supported by people from neighbouring communities, who together ambushed the bandits and killed 30 of them.
A source said, “boko haram came to Majifa village where they killed 3 persons.However, the villagers decided to put calls through to their neighbouring villages who gathered and lay ambush on the killers in Kokarawa village, and in the process they killed over 30 boko haram killers”
Meanwhile, The Police Public Relation Officer of Kastina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah when contacted by journalists said he hasn’t been briefed on the situation yet, he however promised to find out.
